Anonymous is not dead yet

The power of Anonymous rests in the media attention it gets. A small group of people began to act as the sole media front-end for Anonymous and held all the power in this position. Anonymous lost confidence in its own representatives and has since continued with business as usual. The failed DDoS attack on the Chamber of Commerce lacked participation and the element of surprise, leading some to declare Anonymous ‘dead’.

Anonymous is the dead horse that comes back to life as soon as someone comes around and kicks it. The 8,000 people who joined in DDoS attacks to support  WikiLeaks are still there and still mad as hell. The support for DDoS, however, has dwindled. Forty of the DDoSers from the cablegate affair were arrested, and the definition of “civil disobedience” has come into question after Sonygate.

As applied to Mastercard, which imposed unfair financial punishment to WikiLeaks, DDoS was wholly regarded as symbolic civil disobedience. When Sony was attacked, millions of gamers were disconnected because of DDoS. This was not viewed as civil disobedience.

When media becomes little more than a propaganda filter full of opinionated liars, there needs to be a balance. Rather than voting up attack plans for the Chamber of Commerce on Reddit, vote up material that will inform people of the issue, and give them a list of ways to contact the people behind Protect IP. I have sent repetitive e-mails to their offices, flooding them with disapproval. When DDoS is spoiled and inappropriate, there are better ways to have your voice heard. No one supports PROTECT IP. Why do Senators masquerade as representatives of anything but corporate power? Let them know who’s really in charge. Below are a list of the sponsors of PROTECT IP and links to email them, telephone them, and yes, even fax them.

The PROTECT IP Act is the work of Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) and is cosponsored by Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-.R.I.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), Christopher Coons (D-Del.), and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.)

Clearly, I’m walking the line between trolling, serious opinion, and encouraging illegal behavior. But no, I don’t care if you would rather DDoS, blackfax your senator, or write meaningful letters full of anger. I’m just writing for you, the one person who knows what Anonymous is all about. Anonymous = GTFO

Thank you so very much for donating your daily supply of GTFO

Don’t try to suggest honest political action to these mouth-breathers. They would rather stay up all night drinking Code Red Mountain Dew, circlejerking an IRC room around their ever-dwindling LOIC capabilities.

“You mean have my voice heard by writing nasty letters to the Senate? LOL no thx I will let the LOIC determine whose voice is heard from now on.”
-anon

The Protect IP Act = the worst bill ever written for the internet. Think of your precious downloads, anonymous. But sure, go ahead, prepare an attack on us instead, and fail at DDoSing .gov sites while you’re at it. That should convince them that an Internet clampdown is a bad idea!

Yes, let’s abuse the internet in hopes that said abuse will convince them not to clamp down on us.

A (relatively) likely scenario provided things keep going the way they are is that the free first world countries will end up either with internet as regulated as TV, or dead and gone because WW3 started and they were caught with their pants down and their data-banks full of question marks above empty suits.

I’VE SAID IT BEFORE AN I’LL SAY IT AGAIN: FUCK ANONYMUS
I entered my REAL name and my REAL e-mail.
Come and fucking get me, I’d love to test the strength of a DDoS attack

In my country, the most conservative newspapers are supportive of Anonymous. Ive wondered why for some time, until I realized how conservative most danish anons really are.

Which makes me wonder why these people feel a need to hide and from what?

Its not illegal to be a Tory, so Im thinking the reason why so many anons feel the need to hide, is just to diguise their own inability to make a difference.

The attempt to merge political activism, street-art and anonymous self-hating fags seem to have failed.

The truth is, that Europe is once again becoming fascistic and the youth of our nations seem to be completely into that.

We are getting ready to fight, a civil war with out masks!

One of my closest friends fell for these fucking bastards and their damn idealistic slogans and got chucked in a fucking state prison.
