Aaron Swartz was Murdered

Aaron Swartz killed himself after the sudden realization he was a "macfag."
Murderers of Aaron Swartz tried to disguise his death as a suicide.

NEW YORK — After reports of Aaron Swartz’s apparent suicide circulated around the Internet this weekend, investigators found evidence of foul play. A former architect of Reddit, the online forum scandalized earlier this year by child pornography and “creepshots,” Aaron Swartz was widely known for his contributions to anti-copyright activism after stealing millions of files from MIT.

Hackers from Anonymous released a statement on Sunday, “Heavy-handed prosecutors raped the beautiful mind of Aaron Swartz. He later ‘killed himself.’ Are the draconian copyright laws selectively applied to those who threaten the inertia of entrenched power? Certainly. Will they use their sockpuppets and judicial torture system to make YOU kill yourself too? Of course. Will they kill you if you go too far?”

Chronicle Reporters also questioned Julian Assange, sick from months of exile in the Ecuadorean embassy, about the death of Aaron Swartz. “I am not convinced that Aaron Swartz was such a coward he committed suicide due to fear of prison,” said Mr. Assange. “Read his words, and decide for yourself, but I believe Swartz was murdered by a team of copyright assassins who made it all look like a simple suicide. Watch what you say, or you may end up like Aaron Swartz.”

Swartz gave a talk in 2008, mentioning his intention to ” download scientific journals and upload them to file sharing networks.”

Information is power. But like all power, there are those who want to keep it for themselves. The world’s entire scientific and cultural heritage, published over centuries in books and journals, is increasingly being digitized and locked up by a handful of private corporations. Want to read the papers featuring the most famous results of the sciences? You’ll need to send enormous amounts to publishers like Reed Elsevier.

There are those struggling to change this. The Open Access Movement has fought valiantly to ensure that scientists do not sign their copyrights away but instead ensure their work is published on the Internet, under terms that allow anyone to access it. But even under the best scenarios, their work will only apply to things published in the future. Everything up until now will have been lost.

That is too high a price to pay. Forcing academics to pay money to read the work of their colleagues? Scanning entire libraries but only allowing the folks at Google to read them? Providing scientific articles to those at elite universities in the First World, but not to children in the Global South? It’s outrageous and unacceptable.

“I agree,” many say, “but what can we do? The companies hold the copyrights, they make enormous amounts of money by charging for access, and it’s perfectly legal — there’s nothing we can do to stop them.” But there is something we can, something that’s already being done: we can fight back.

Those with access to these resources — students, librarians, scientists — you have been given a privilege. You get to feed at this banquet of knowledge while the rest of the world is locked out. But you need not — indeed, morally, you cannot — keep this privilege for yourselves. You have a duty to share it with the world. And you have: trading passwords with colleagues, filling download requests for friends.

Meanwhile, those who have been locked out are not standing idly by. You have been sneaking through holes and climbing over fences, liberating the information locked up by the publishers and sharing them with your friends.

But all of this action goes on in the dark, hidden underground. It’s called stealing or piracy, as if sharing a wealth of knowledge were the moral equivalent of plundering a ship and murdering its crew. But sharing isn’t immoral — it’s a moral imperative. Only those blinded by greed would refuse to let a friend make a copy.

Large corporations, of course, are blinded by greed. The laws under which they operate require it — their shareholders would revolt at anything less. And the politicians they have bought off back them, passing laws giving them the exclusive power to decide who can make copies.

There is no justice in following unjust laws. It’s time to come into the light and, in the grand tradition of civil disobedience, declare our opposition to this private theft of public culture.

We need to take information, wherever it is stored, make our copies and share them with the world. We need to take stuff that’s out of copyright and add it to the archive. We need to buy secret databases and put them on the Web. We need to download scientific journals and upload them to file sharing networks. We need to fight for Guerilla Open Access.

With enough of us, around the world, we’ll not just send a strong message opposing the privatization of knowledge — we’ll make it a thing of the past. Will you join us?

plausible theory

Without evidence, people who just believe the bullshit they are told, will just take the “official story” without question.
Any questioning of the “official story” will be seen as a conspiracy theory.

Questioning things is the right thing to do.

If he really killed himseld he would leave a message to explain the reason why to his family and friend. But he was not as egoist to leave people who love him that way.He was fihting for giving free information to people of the world. Could he kill himself without giving any explation to people?

That he would not have committed suicide is a fact that is clearly solar. The question that remains unanswered is: who ordered the death of Aron? So many suspects… I bet Assange knows.

Hi There Chronicle,
I just stumbled across this and, Do you think 35 years and a million dollar fine was fair punishment for downloading JSTOR docs onto his laptop ? And do you think JSTOR should be available freely to the public ? And how do you feel about the outrageous price it charges for journals ?

I came accross this article, simply because I googled ‘Aaron Swartz murdered?’
IO seemed to be the only person questioning his suicide…
I am amazed that Julian Assange is, apparently, at elast so far, teh only person to think teh same, and to say it.

I cannot believ that teh boy woudl kill himself, and find it particularly strange taht noone qiuestioned this. It is as if his family were intimidated enough not to make suggestions…

But in any suicide one wonders.

I was listening to a former CIA whistleblower, a lady directly involved with 9/11, Susan Lindouer, on youtube the other day, and she was telling how her flat had been totally bugged, that accidentally due to a flood or some reason for the fall of a ceiling, the electrician that came around found what he thought was her music system throughout the whole house.

That is, she had been bugged. Her whole place had been invaded and this system set up. And she had not noticed it.

How easy would it be to just hang Aaron?

I suppose we will never know the truth but the question ought to be put there. He was persecuted enough, and it would be very convenient, to avoid noise, to just get rid of him.

It is legal to shoot down enemies of the state. This is just a shortcut from there no?

Just a possible view…

He would NOT have committed suicide. Therefore, I believe he was murdered.

That’s what the mafia families of the world do — it was just more fun this time.

Sometimes they like to give you life in prison like Bradley Manning just got.

BUT if you know the wrong people, you can get away with ANYTHING.

Certainly he was murdered. Michael Hastings was murdered. David Kelly was murdered. WE are all awakening to the real dark and horrific depths of our government’s workings. And it’s traumatic.

If I ever get pulled to this site again by another bullshit deceptive headline like this, I will make sure I never return to this site again under any circumstance.

Murdered by proxy is accurate enough for me. Frankly, Dr. Aaron Swartz knew he
would be protected by his friends and colleagues all over the world. Suicide
is doubtful based on knowledge of what he was doing. No amount of harassment
from BIG Law could have prompted him to destroy his life. He knew he had a major fight on his hands but, he had no prior arrest record and would undoubtedly not
be subject to prison based on a first offense. His lawyer would have told him
that it was unlikely he would spend any time in prison when first consulted. Taken together, Dr. Swartz was too intelligent to fall prey to his own imagination or threats from lawyers. And if one examines theories of suicide,
Dr. Swartz does not fit the typical profile of a victim. He was a fighter and not one that simply gave up on his fight. Dr. Swartz had a record of achievement
and not failure if we examine his history based on behaviour. Dr. Swartz was
one that adapted to problem solving on a daily basis and his academic achievement
does not indicate failure whatsoever. Clearly, he must have been murdered if we
use the tools of analysis regarding the sociology of suicide, and the psychology of suicide. The politics of suicide shows us propaganda and not much more than that. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and that is the fight. Dr. Swartz would
not back down from this challenge or throw his life out because of threats of
prison time. He had everything to live for and not a single thing to die for.
The calculus just does not compute in this case. Logic was a tool that Dr. Swartz
used every day of his life. Logic can now be used to answer our questions regarding his death.

Ability .I cant understant what is wrong with people .This past 2 yrs should be proof .They will keep their control or kill us all.

The people closest to him, even stated that these charges were weighing very heavily on him. It may have weighed on him one moment too long and he made a rash decision he would normally not make. There are very, very many suicides that do not leave notes. Especially if it wasn’t a planned suicide, if it was a spur of the moment type of thing.

Sometimes, there are people who you would never in a million years guess that they would ever end their lives, but they unfortunately do. I still think the prosecution and everyone involved by action or no action (MIT, JSTOR) have blood on their hands. I wonder if they feel they have caused enough damage yet? i wonder if the vultures will still feel smug and righteous on judgement day.

There is little doubt in my mind that Swartz was murdered, IF, there was no suicide note which is what has been reported. The existence of a suicide note is not always revealed to the public. If there was no note, Swartz is the type of person who would have left a note. He would not have departed without a epitaph of his own writing. For it to occur immediately after refusing a plea deal and forcing the criminal case to go forward, his death was the only way to prevent that process.

The question as who killed him is the greater question. Of course government agents is the first thought. However, they are more likely to prefer stumbling through a trial for all the personal publicity it would attract. It is more likely that there was a fear of something extremely damaging to an individual or company coming out during the trial. In this technological era where 100s of millions of dollars change hands as new developments occur, Swartz could have become the greatest asset to one entity while becoming the greatest liability for another.

So, the facts speak plainly enough as to a murder. Hanging is, by far, the easiest murder to coverup. No trail of evidence in acquiring prescription drugs, guns, knives, razor blades, or whatever implement could be used. No climbing to a jumping place where a witness might observe. Even a recent hanging in a Texas jail where cameras saw no one entering or leaving the inmate’s cell is being treated as a potential murder, with far less motive or evidence. Also, when someone of such a high profile that has so many people wishing him dead, the official cause of death being labelled a suicide came too easily and quickly.

hey there and thank you for your info – I’ve definitely picked up something new from right here. Actually, the official story contained facts. Everyone that has posted here seems to base their opinions on some subjective feeling, logical fallacy argument or statements that are in no way substantiated.
In reality, Aaron did suffer from depression and wrote about it with a very clear understanding of it.
However, just as depression can come and go without reason, it can and often is caused by a trigger, just the same as anyone else. Aaron was very rattled just the first time he heard from his mother that they were being watched. Aaron was pressured into suicide to agree that I would consider manslaughter if there were justice.
As for suicide notes, more often than not, they are left to get attention or make people feel badly. Some people know that their suicide will hurt their family, and words written on a page can haunt for years. I believe that Aaron, in a very triggered and obvious nightmare situation felt that life was no longer worth living. Don’t argue with me,he wrote about that exact feeling and having experienced it several times. Read what he wrote about his depresson, consider the pressure that the government placed on him out of evil desire to make an example and further their careers Anyway you look at, the prosecutors have blood on their hands and always will. I wish only that if there is any God, or any justice in this universe, that they very simply pass through a very dark phase where they are forced to confront and open their eyes, allow their consciences to face their true actions, lies, injuries, refusal to pleas bargain (and yet they lied about that the very day after his death trying to clear themselves of wrong-doing but wouldn’t comment on tougher questions out of “respect for his family” They had no more respect for his family than they had for Aaron, or anyone else that they could use as an opportunity, these two most trusted friends of Barrack Obama. These people should have been fired from their jobs and instead were rewarded. They proved that even more than past administrations, people in power can say the most bold-face lies without batting an eye knowing they will not be harmed by the irrelevant feelings and indeed ethics of the public. This is evident in an NSA Director lying to the Supreme Court and Congress. It’s evident in Obama’s recent statements that he felt the government should be allowed to putt “backdoors” into any encrypted email or messaging systems. His support for legislation like SOPA, which had 5 different names and was submitted for vote 14 times in 4 years. Now Obama is supporting CITA, all in an effort to gain power by Congress, shifting our system of checks and balances. That executive power then gets handed down t the NSA and we all know how much respect they have shown the American Public. If I were to consider Aaron’s death a murder while trying to explain the extreme harshness shown him, it would be that one of his last projects was an encrypted email system with a friendly GUI service for journalists who were not savvy enough to use the awkward older methods. The government doesn’t like you using encryption. The idea that our government would actually almost pass legislation to censor American Citizens as nations like China do on the web, is only made more troubling and unfortunate that Aaron helped us win some battles, but has not won the war for us. But as for suicide and suicide letters, there is research on the matter and Aaron would have supported you reading it, rather than just easy thinking that satisfies subconscious anger and distrust of the government. I say to you that the matter is moot. They caused his death just as surely as if they had wrapped the noose around his neck, just as surely as the NSA, voiced through the Senate Security Council is threatening our liberty by a blatant disregard if not a mission, to relegate our Constitution and Bill of Rights by trying to pass legislation that violates it, by stealing every bit of information they can have third parties do for them, and by depriving us of our own privacy in the shows we watch, the videos on youtube, the websites we visit, with requests for data collection in every application on your phones or pcs, from your device manufacturers, your carrier service, the unreliable apps you download. Aaron saw this with the NSA and even in the documentary he comments on how obvious it is when the NSA couldn’t even come back with a guess as to how many phones hey had been listening in on. As for Carmen Ortiz, she is a liar without conscience. Even in her excuse of what she was “planning”, those are not the practices of a prosecutor, and much of the excuses she made were lies But when your friend’s with the President, you can provide ridiculous double-talk and move up the ladder, even winning a President’s award. I got sad thinking about him today and I don’t know why. I suppose because I miss having lights in the world that gave hope that we could rally and win.But it seems right now, particularly with the super-spyware Windows 10 OS, that they are determined to know every move or thought or interest or dirt or anything that is of our doing, and their assumption that they are going toget our information one way or the other.Whether they jailed Aaron, or forced his suicide, they took out a threat, and a beacon of hope and empowerment that we got from Aaron. I have never felt so saddened by the loss of someone i never met personally, but the number of friends and the outpouring of change showed that at least his persecution and death touched the consciences of at least some and from that free information that was released, one young briliant teenager, like Aaron came up with a theoretical way to test for pancreatic cancer. With the support of one doctor who found his idea interesting, that test became a reality and the role that Aaron’s sacrifice contributed to that, was not lost on them or others who became aware of the good that eventually always outshines the darkness.

What happened during the last minutes of Swartz’s life I do not know, yet. I doubt a man like him would commit suicide, by hanging, without leaving a long explanation for those he loved. There seem to have been many he loved, dearly. I do know that very suspicious circumstances went completely under-investigated. Like the Ives/Henry case, Kennedy murders, 9/11, etc etc etc. But I’ll stop, tin-foil individuals calling others “conspiracy-theorists” may object. A fact of no dispute is that Aaron attracted many enemies. He just didn’t understand how ruthless they can be. Motives were abound for his death. The ones where I would start are those suffering from his PACER (www.pacer.gov) work. PACER BTW, is still generating millions of dollars for someone. Not sure who. Audits of them seems unavailable. His SOPA work too. But David S up above wrote a slightly shilling comment. Seems like someone is trying to run interference. Common place if you have eyes. Amid a tirade of “it was suicide” there is a dribble of what seems non-factual yet biting words. I am sure psychologically well-read David S would know about perpetrators of crimes returning to crime scenes, toying with investigators, etc. There is the line that David S wrote: “Aaron was pressured into suicide to agree that I would consider manslaughter if there were justice.” Bizarre!

David S tries to convince but did he let something slip?

We must stick with facts, and there are many. Keep your eyes open for interference running agents of saboteur, their mouths full of unsubstantiated conspiracy junk. You can hide something in a locked box. OR, you can hide stuff among rubbish. Stick to facts my fellow freedom fighters. Insist on proper, public and transparent investigations. Se tu.

Peace

Many years ago I decided to learn as much as I could about how & who runs the different depts in the government. I gathered info from as many resources as I could & the more I learned, the more I wished I didn’t know. I have come to believe that very little of the info the government puts out there is believable. And that there is as much to fear from our own government, as there is that of other countries.

It’s is my belief, 100% that Aaron Swartz is still Alive in the witness protection program. Wit-Sec feds are pretty much mind controlled zombies. When a witness goes into protection their death is always done strategically to avoid any possibility of questioning.

Aaron swartz and my brother died on the same day and in EXACTLY the same way. Coincidence?? No chance!!

My cousin was s CIA contractor, during his tenure my brother ” committed suicide”. His suicide was on the very same day as Aaron Swartz and the method was identical. My brother had ankle tattoos and is a chain smoking drug fiend. His autopsy toxicology showed no history of drug alcohol or tobacco use nor any tattoos. So obviously it wasn’t him.

The government suicides people in only one way. Just ask Jeffrey Epstein.

wow this makes sense. they need him. they will use his intelligence. this explains a theory i have , about this “shift in wealth” we will call it…., could be true. now the dates arent putting holes in it. wow . well sorry about your brother, if u lost him to WPP…u still lost him. xo

First, sorry about your brother’s absence no matter how it has occurred. I find your theory very interesting. Would he really put his family and friends through the pain? He’s a genius, he would surely have found a way to contact someone and let them know he was alive but unable to return or some kind of acknowledgement.
